OUR PROGRAMS

Our main objective is to focus on promoting peace, social cohesion, and healing in communities and societies that have experienced conflict, division, or trauma. Tecla Namachanja Healing And Peace Foundation (TNHAPF)  works to address the underlying causes of conflict and facilitate processes that lead to reconciliation, understanding, and a sense of unity among individuals and groups. Our main Objectives, activities and approach:

a.) Conflict resolution and mediation: We facilitate dialogues, negotiations, and mediation processes to resolve conflicts peacefully and find mutually acceptable solutions. This can involve bringing together conflicting parties, fostering dialogue, and helping them find common ground.

b.) Reconciliation and healing programs: TNHAPF develops initiatives and activities aimed at fostering reconciliation and healing among individuals and communities affected by conflict or trauma. This may include truth and reconciliation commissions, commemorative events, storytelling, and community healing circles.

c.) Peacebuilding and dialogue facilitation: We promote dialogue and constructive engagement between different groups, encouraging understanding, empathy, and cooperation. They work to bridge divides, build trust, and promote peaceful coexistence.

d.) Education and awareness-raising: We develop educational programs and campaigns to raise awareness about the root causes of conflict, violence, and discrimination. These initiatives promote values such as tolerance, respect, and non-violence, and equip individuals with skills for peaceful conflict resolution.

e.) Advocacy and policy influence: We engage in advocacy efforts to influence policies and practices at local, national, and international levels, promoting peace, social cohesion, and healing. We work with governments, non-governmental  institutions, and civil society to implement policies that address the structural and systemic factors contributing to conflict.

f.) Community empowerment and capacity building: We support local communities by providing training, resources, and tools to empower individuals and communities to take an active role in peacebuilding and healing processes. This may include leadership development, skills training, and support for grassroots initiatives.

g.) Trauma healing and psychosocial support: We provide support services to individuals and communities affected by conflict, violence, or trauma. This can include counseling, therapy, and psychosocial support programs to help individuals cope with and recover from the psychological and emotional impact of their experiences.

h.) Research and knowledge sharing: We conduct research and generate knowledge on peace, cohesion, and healing processes, contributing to the understanding of effective approaches to conflict resolution and peacebuilding. They share this knowledge through publications, conferences, and training programs.
